Keyshia Cole Kick Starts New Album?

For one reason or another, R&B success stories have become few and far between in recent years, marred by the difficulty most of its acts convince their fans to follow their cause from many a comment section…and to iTunes.

Fortunately for Keyshia Cole, the run at the top she enjoyed with Ron Fair saw cultivate a fan base who’ve developed a culture of buying her music.

A culture, which saw first week sales of her latest album ‘Woman to Woman’ of 96,000 units- a figure out of reach for many an R&B staple. Now, with that album no more than 200,000 units from being certified Gold, it seems she has kicked off work on its follow up, enlisting an old friend to craft its material!

Details below…

After watching the popularity of his own material rise this month, Hip Hop’s Elijah Blake took to Twitter this morning to share the following:

Hinting at the birth of a brand new studio album, his tweet comes one year after he penned ‘Woman’s lead single ‘Enough of no Love’ for her, watching it become one of the year’s fastest selling singles from her genre with 70,000 units sold.

If Keyshia is working on a new album, we can’t wait till hear what she cooks up.

Hopefully, in pulling from the themes addressed in her ‘Family First’ reality series, album #6 tells her story in ways we’ve never heard of it, flaunting heartfelt cuts akin to Pink‘s ‘Family Portrait‘ and R&B scented Pop singles in the vein of Mariah‘s ‘Don’t Forget About Us‘.

So, let us know…

Are you looking forward to the new LP?

Artists are getting lazy at re-inventing themselves. If you starve them of the money and fame, perhaps they will work as hard as they did the first go around.

I am one of those ride or die fans who always buy her albums – she is an r&b artist who has not sold out her image or music style to chase trends and as an r&b music fan, I appreciate that.

Keyshia came hard with WOMAN TO WOMAN so I will definitely continue to support her.

I like Keyshia Cole as a music artist. She was planning on making a good comeback she should hire back manny as her manager. Without him for her next album some of the songs won’t be as great. I watched her tv show last fall and her husband was the one who made her fire her manager Manny. Her manager was the one who gave her some good songs in the past. I think Keyshia Cole should do something else.
